Meditation is beneficial. It helps relieve stress and anxiety which in turn helps us experience deeper levels of peace and tranquility. It quiets the mind and improves concentration. We aren’t fully conscious of the amount of self-defeating thoughts that go through an undisciplined mind, also called "monkey mind."


This monkey chatter can create negative thoughts, and can lead to experiencing depression, anxiety and stress in our lives which creates problems, which in turn creates more self-defeating thoughts. It can become a vicious cycle which can be difficult to break.


Taking the time to sit down for meditation can help us greatly reduce this seeming incessant stream of mental noise by training the mind to become still. This will help us experience deeper levels of silence, stillness and serenity. This inner peace can help us be happier and more productive because we’ll be more in a state of ease and relaxed flow.
